The calendar year plates have been very popular as anniversary or birthday gifts. We have had several purchased to be used at 50th Wedding Anniversary parties.

At $3.50 a piece, they are cheaper to buy than a greeting card keepsake and more functional.

There is a new display of vintage bar ware. Look at the fun graphics on this Mr. Bartender box. It advertises "One jigger I pour, no less, no more".

2nd fl Thriftiques is now open for the New Year. New inventory includes a large selection of tins and enamelware perfect for adding that vintage touch to your kitchen or bathroom. Serving both form and function, they can be enjoyed for their stylish looks and general use.

Just in time for that end-of-summer fling in the backyard, the neighborhood block party or a family reunion, the shop now has dozens of pieces of Hammered Aluminum, the perfect Party Essential.

Quick Facts About Collectible Aluminum

- Most hammered aluminum pieces made their way into homes from the 1930s through the 1950s as Wedding gifts. Colorful anodized aluminum wares were popular with homemakers through the ‘50s and early ‘60s.

- Popular names to look for on collectible hammered aluminum pieces are Arthur Armour, Continental Silver Company, Everlast, Buenilum, Rodney Kent and Pamer-Smith.

There is just something so cute about a doggie. You don't have to own a dog to appreciate these little ceramic pooches all marked either Japan or Occupied Japan. The faces are well painted and their expressions just so darn adorable.

The shop also is home to these metal dog figurines. Not just cute keepsakes, they are weighty enough to serve duty as paper weights. They are looking for a new home. At top sits a chalkware soulful-eyed little doggie.

The Shop Is Open

The shop at 8 School Street is open! Please stop by for a visit, where everything old is new again. Vintage finds from the roaring 20's to the late 1980's along with repurposed treasures comprise the large inventory. Please let me know what you may be looking for and I will be on the look out for these requests. Enjoy your stay at the shop.

Here you will find Pyrex, Aprons, kitchen collectibles and so much more.

Both pieces are Pyrex, the smaller bowl is the Butterprint design, both my favorite turquoise color. I love the graphics and color of the Pretzel tin.
